Announcement: New QLD Regional Coordinator

We have some BIG NEWS to share with you!

Rob and Cat Lowther have faithfully served as QLD Regional Coordinators for the past 10 years, and recently have felt that it is the right time to finish up in the role. At the QLD Regional Camp (pictured above) we kicked off our inaugural Lowther Cup teams comp to commemorate their incredible years of leadership. We also heard some final words of encouragement from the Lowthers and were able to express our gratitude to them.

During the past few months we've been working through an application process and consulting with QLD leaders to prayerfully consider potential candidates for the role.

JORDAN MERRY APPOINTED AS THE NEW QLD REGIONAL COORDINATOR

We are stoked to share that Jordan Merry has been appointed to step into the role of QLD Regional Coordinator.

Jordy and his wife Aubrey have recently finished a year of traveling around Australia and are now back living in their hometown, Mudjimba, on the Sunshine Coast and preparing to welcome their first child into the world mid-August.

Jordy grew up on the West Coast of Victoria where he was mentored as a grommet by Christian Surfers legends such as Lucas Bartlett (National Training Manager), Jeremy Gray and Mark Johnstone.

In his teens Jordy moved to QLD and became a junior leader in Coolum CS where he went on to lead many camps and CS events. In 2011, he was instrumental in pulling together a cross cultural surf trip in partnership with Compassion to the Phillipines, captured as a documentary called Living on Cloud Nine.

In the past decade, Jordy has honed his creative skills as a musician and film maker (see https://www.jordymerry.com/) and has worked with teams at Youth For Christ, Goodlife Church and as a high school teacher.
